It was a pretty eventful day I'd have to say.
With little time, I make this rhyme
Sounding so happy and gay.
What am I talking about..Let me get Strrrrrraight to the point.
Went out for brunch with Alts today cause I had this sudden URGE to try out the mee pok she always told me about (HONESTLY K, it was REALLY a sudden urge. That's why I called at 8.30pm the night before).
And when I got to the market, my eyes were treated to a wonderful gastronomically-optical delight. Sounds pretty ironic doesn't it? To put it simply, I saw the amount of food available when I first cast my eyes on the place and I didn't know what to say lah!
Mee Pok, to Tang Yuan, to Chicken Rice, to Goreng Pisang, to Black Carrot Cake..whatever I could possibly think of was there.
I don't know..not only was I stunned like a koala in floodlight when I saw the choices placed before me, I was SPOILT FOR CHOICE.
Just like a greedy fat kid in a candy store, the only words that were going through my mind were, "I want this, I want that..aiyah, EVERYTHING LAH!"
And thus came the Piece de Resistance. When I couldn't take it any longer and succumbed to temptation, I called for the first round of food. Kudos to Ms. Tan for making the order.
For a moment, I thought I was possessed by a ravaging beast that had been starved for a millenium when I ended up with 2 and a half bowls of Mee Pok, fishballs, ketchup and all; with the half bowl coming from her who couldn't finish it :D
Then came the desert. A thick gloopy bowl of almond paste accompanied with silky, creamy glutinous rice balls. Oh...if that wasn't Heaven, then it would be sad if Heaven didn't have Tang Yuan (but I'm sure it will!)
Washed down with a refreshing glass of Soya Bean milk with Chin Chow jelly. Believe me, it's alot better than it sounds and it doesn't take a medal of bravery to give it a try.
As if that wasn't all, something in my head told me, "Ey, now go get your chicken rice. Mix both roasted and white chicken and take-away."
Thankfully, she came along and reminded me to add the black sauce and the chilli sauce.
Wah biang, when I walked out of the market, I flipped. I didn't know what made me do it and why, but I was thankful I worked out the night before during training.
