Are Concessions Really THAT Difficult?
First it was the cab fare hike. Then it was the bus and MRT fare hike announcement. And now they're jacking up the ERP prices again.
If you ask me right, the CTE, the PIE, the SLE and the ECP (the more commonly used expressways) already have such high volumes of traffic each and everyday. Do you REALLY think that increasing the price YET AGAIN will do ape shit and reduce the traffic??
Of course not! Being such a smaaaallll country, these expressways are already the only means to get around in a short time; especially for those who rush to work. The reason why we have to use the expressways is because the bloody damn main roads are already clogged up!
You see the link here? Main roads jammed force motorists to use expressway -> Motorists gather on expressway to avoid crazy main road traffic -> More traffic jams begin to build up -> INCREASING ERP RATES DON'T HELP!!
Let's look at it this way...using the simple rule of multiplication and volume, XYZ number of people are paying $3.00 (for entry onto the CTE between 0830-0855hrs) at the moment which would give us a total amount of $3XYZ. This excludes all other expressways during the different times. And when you think about it carefully, that is ALOT of money!
But the $1 million dollar question that everyone is asking is, 'Where does all our money go??'
And now that the ERP rates are going up again, us Singaporeans would DEFINITELY like to know where the money REALLY is going.
Do you really think raising prices would deter Singaporeans from taking the expressways? NO!
Bloody hell, you all got so much money, why don't you build bigger roads instead of installing more f-ing gantries??
They're not solving the problem at all. Instead, they're just making alot of motorists alot more unhappy. More often than not, my parents curse and swear more at the number of gantries than the traffic jam that is on the road.
I hope those clowns get their act right soon. Otherwise the excerpt below would be a typical conversation commonplace in coffeeshops:
"Wait later outside my toilet also got gantry ah. Want to shit, must put in cashcard and then wait for 'beep' then can go through. After shit finish also must wait for 'beep' another time. Cannot just walk out liddat..Otherwise kenna fine then you know ah."
