Have I told ANYONE how APPALLING I think Singapore Idol is?!?!?
There I was watching the supposed PIANO SHOW last night and what my eyes received was a good waste of precious air time.
Perhaps I've got my concept of a PIANO SHOW wrong but can someone tell me how songs like 'Don't Speak' and 'I Will Survive' made their way through??
'Don't Speak' happens to be a song from the Alternative music genre and as for my beloved song, 'I Will Survive', it's a piece from the disco era! Is Gloria Gaynor still alive by the way?
As they say, "EVERYBODY'S A CRITIC." (or at least some try)
Well, I...am not. For the very fact that critics 1)often try to hard and are unoriginal and 2)critics have a reeeally weird sense of humour. Believe me on that one.
I'm just an opinionated person who believes that if anything's a waste of time, it deserves to be 3)bitched about and 4)given a fair thrashing.
Back to Singapore Idol. This season's batch places no better than the previous batch. In fact, it's a WHOLE lot worse; not in terms of potential or talent (it's always been atrocious), but simply in terms of stature, humility and the poise of the contestants.
As I said, if you want to have a personality or a character of your own or even an image you want to create for yourself, by all means please do. Just make sure you do a good job at it, make it BEARABLE and to the public eye. Not with the mentality that it's 'your own style' in your desperately small, tiny, narrow, little world.
I say this with regards to one contestant known as Rahimah Rahim. I don't care if I've gotten her name spelt correctly, but I don't really give a sh*t.
EEYERR! (That's my Dick Lee impersonation and what I think of her singing)
One thing these girls have in common is that they sing in a morbidly low pitch? I don't know if they aspire to sing like Aretha Franklin, Fantasia Barrino or even Tina Turner but bijove Carrie Underwoods and Gospel Singers they ARE NOT.
It's a pity their singing turns out gutteral.
If anyone agrees with the post I have just made, please feel free to post a tag!
