Reflections of today's Strongman finals bring back a rush of thoughts and ponderings.
There was something about that 3rd place finish that got me excited yet left me disappointed and as I re-cap the day, it brings me nothing but pride and joy to know that I did my friends proud.

February 27th was the very first day I had flipped a tyre and pulled a truck. Though I didn't do well, I gave it my best and qualified for the finals I'd never forget in time to come.
And today on March the 12th, I showed to everyone and EVERYONE in town what an 18yr old like me could do in the face of adversity.I pulled a car, carried 150kilos in logs over 40m, flipped 225kg tyres, walked 40m with a loaded 75 kilo barrel and pulled a 4 tonne truck amongst a field of seniors aged 23-42. Yes, I was the youngest, and I was there to make a mark for myself, to show Singaporeans what someone like me could achieve.

It didn't matter whether I stumbled early in the competition or not because what mattered was that I picked myself up, I fought on, and I made a podium finish despite my age and size. I was outsized but I showed that I wasn't about to allow myself to be outclassed.

Looking back on hindsight, I was extremely happy Taufik won after a huge battle with Elvin (who btw, was on 'super supplements' if you know what I mean) and bagged 7000 dollars.
Yet that bitter side of me told me that I could have done better had I not fallen at that very last moment in the farmer's (log) walk.

I walked away bruised, I walked away battered but my spirit and my soul lay down to rest to no one. I look forward to next year where the competition will mount and so my presence would be made.

I was pretty happy I managed to get the respect of the crowd simply because of my age. I wanted to give them a show and I gave it to them..No regrets at all? Maybe but there's only room for improvement. I thank you my friends for the incredible support you showed and I'm happy I made you proud.
