Right, so we've got the hungry ghost festival. I've never liked this stupid occasion ever since I was a young kid. For the obvious reasons,when I was a young boy, I was afraid of spirits following me around and what not. But now, I gotta say I think the people who came up with this f*ck-festival(no pun intended),the Taoists, have to be the most arseholic bunch of people ever for several reasons.
- They burn all their hell notes,joss sticks, offerings whatver on the roads. CCB la, haze is already bad enough,you still want to die of asthma and bronchitis is it?
- Hell is a place of suffering. Everyone knows it, so what makes you think your dead relatives will be HAPPY once they receive your dumb man-created hell bank notes?
- You burn all your nonsensical waste and you leave a giagantic,unsightly, smelling pile of ash in the middle of the road which first off looks like shit and next it obviously STINKS. I really pity the bangla cleaners all right. It's like having to clean up after some enormous dog just took a shit in public.
Can the government like,have some control over this practice? It's just too ludicrous! Well anyway, that's my view of this particular practice. In a nutshell, it's(hungry-ghost festival) nothing better than a big pile of bullshit. Next up, another thing I've been worrying about is that I have a neighbour who lives a few floors above me. She's a mother. Here's the frightening part. Just about every night I hear her shouting and screaming. Then again, I also hear her son shouting and screaming. The thing is, her son's what? 9 years old? If you ask me, she's beating the poor bugger up just because he's having difficulty understanding his books. It's a really sad to thing to hear almost every night. A mother physically abusing a child at such an age,making him weep and wail while everyone in the block listens on.(Now you guys out there living in landed property,count yourselves lucky you don't have to go through things like these yea. -wink-)
Now,on we go about the topic of drivers in Singapore..these guys are HORRIBLE I tell you. But put it bluntly, 3 in 5 drivers are stupid. And that's excluding ah bengs. Just last night I was making my way home from training and I was crossing the road. I did what any GOOD PEDESTRIAN would and should do- look right,look left..and then look right again. So basically I did that and I saw a car coming down from the left. Wooo...Subaru Impreza..big shit (as if). What was the stupid driver doing? He was looking at a bunch of boys playing basketball in a court..yes..take your squinty eyes off the road will you. I noticed this and waited for him to come nearer.Why so? because it was a two way street and he was happily driving in the bloody wrong lane. No sooner had I put my foot down on the road, I was horned at, and also given a stare. He was giving me this 'CCB you' look. So what did I do? STARE back lah! what could he do? I was obviously bigger than him..if he chose to come out I would've been ready to smash his peanuts in. But of course you all know, I'm a nice,friendly and patient young man yes? Indeed. Anyway,I'm pretty amazed at these people. In fact, I think the government did the right move in pushing up the legal age so as to obtain a driver's license. To cut down on the number of idiots who think they're ready to go on the road and horn at any damned thing they deem fit to horn at..
